PAIA Manual

Manual in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”) · Last updated: 20 July 2026

1. About this manual

This manual is published by DAGRISOL (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2024/404633/07, a private company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa (“the Company”). It explains the kinds of records the Company holds and how any person may request access to them under PAIA, and it addresses the processing of personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”). The Company operates two related online services: DAGRISOL (farm management, app.dagrisol.com) and DAGRICON (an agricultural contracting marketplace).

2. Contact details & Information Officer

Information Officer: Paul Nel
Postal / physical address: 20 Rule Street, Kroonstad, Free State, 9499

Websites: app.dagrisol.com · dagricon.co.za

3. The Regulator's Guide (section 10)

The Information Regulator has published a Guide, in all official languages, on how to use PAIA. It is available from the Information Regulator (South Africa): website inforegulator.org.za, email enquiries@inforegulator.org.za, JD House, 27 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg. Copies of the Guide may also be requested from our Information Officer.

4. Records that are automatically available

These may be accessed freely and do not require a PAIA request.

5. Categories of records we hold

Holding a category of record does not mean access will be granted — each request is assessed under PAIA, and many records are protected (for example, other people's personal information).

6. How to request access to a record

Complete the prescribed request form (Form 02 of the PAIA Regulations, available from the Information Regulator's website or from us) and send it to the Information Officer at support@dagrisol.co.zaor the address above. Provide enough detail for us to identify the record and, where you are asking on another person's behalf, proof of authority. The fees prescribed by the PAIA Regulations (a request fee and, where applicable, access/reproduction fees) may apply; personal requesters asking for records about themselves do not pay the request fee. We will respond within 30 days as PAIA provides (extendable once by up to 30 days for large or complex requests).

7. Grounds of refusal & remedies

Access may be refused on the grounds set out in PAIA — most commonly the protection of another person's privacy, commercial confidentiality, or legal privilege. If your request is refused, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) or apply to a court as provided for in PAIA.

8. Processing of personal information (POPIA)

The Company processes personal information to provide the DAGRISOL and DAGRICON services, as described in detail in each service's Privacy Policy (available at the in-app Terms & Privacy pages). In summary: we process account, farm-operations and marketplace data to run the services, for billing, security and support; we share it only with the service providers needed to operate (hosting, database, payments, notifications) and between the two services where a user connects them; some providers process data outside South Africa with safeguards as required by section 72 of POPIA; and data subjects may exercise their POPIA rights (access, correction, deletion, objection) via the Information Officer. Complaints may be directed to the Information Regulator (South Africa).

9. Availability of this manual

This manual is available free of charge on this website (app.dagrisol.com/paia), and on request from the Information Officer at the contact details above. It is updated when the Company's details or record categories change.
